The pressure is on the Dallas Mavericks as they trail Boston 2-0 in the NBA Finals and following two under par performances on the road, Mavs fans will be hoping to see a dramatic improvement from their team if they are to deliver a genuinely competitive test for firm favourites the Celtics in the best of seven series.

The Massachusetts franchise are looking to claim their first NBA Championship since 2008 and should they overcome the Dallas Mavericks in the best of seven series, they would edge past arch rivals LA Lakers with 18 NBA titles to the 17 secured by the team from the City of Angels.
Itâs apparent that Slovenian star Luka Doncic is far from total fitness with a chest condition now compounding his previous ankle and knee ailments with claims that he has been taking pain killing injections masking the injuries to get through games.

Despite his condition, Doncic has arguably been the best player in the Finals to date and posted a triple-double with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the Game 2 loss at Boston but the 25-year-old needs support from the rest of his team, a factor that has been recognised by Kyrie Irving with the veteran stating: âBoston are not going to stop pressing us, stop their pace, stop testing us on both ends of the floor,â Irving said. âWe know what weâre in for. But now we have to raise it to an even higher level, and it starts with me.â
With the next two games of the series coming up in Texas, the Mavs have a wonderful chance to redeem themselves and will no doubt be pushed along by the more than 20,000 fans that are set to pack out the American Airlines Centre in downtown Dallas.
